Pledge to meet regularly with your MLA and hold them accountable!

MP Accountability Network

One of the keys to restoring faith in democracy is ensuring that the MLA's we elect are held to account for what they do on our behalf in the NI Assembly. Churches can play a key role in this task. As part of the MLA Accountability Network, local groups organise regular and ongoing meetings in their constituencies to allow this to happen.

Join our network today and begin holding your MLA to account!

Set up a Group Today!
  • Find a small group of people interested in holding your MLA to account. These could be friends, people from your church, a Churches Together group, or anyone else you think might be interested. You can find a letter inviting people to join a group here.
  • Once you have a group, get in contact with your MLA and ask to set up a meeting. A sample letter is available here. You can discuss any poverty-related issues you feel strongly about, and Church Action on Poverty will help by sending you quarterly briefings on a range of subjects.
  • After you have had your first meeting, ask your MLA if it would be possible for you to meet again, preferably three or four times a year.
  • Please use our 'Contact Us' page to let us know that your group is up and running and if there is anything we can do to help!
